Parkside Intermediate School
Parkside Intermediate School, l0cated on the plot of land between Donner and Niles Aves. in the Mills Park area of San Bruno, is the only intermediate school in the San Bruno Park School District. Its get its name from its location just northwest of San Bruno City Park.
As the only intermediate school in the district, students from all seven elementary schools should attend Parkside. It currently enrolls grades 7-8, but the district plans to convert the school to grades 6-8 in 2012.
Parkside is committed to technology and the school expects students to use technology as an assistive tool in each subject. Students are expected to track assignments and grades, create Power Point presentations, create videos and podcasts as well as use the internet for research. Parkside is proud of its music program and its music boosters help support its efforts. The boosters are comprised of parents and alumi and work to create a positive experience for all students.
Parkside works in collaboration with its Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). The Parkside PTO has several chairs and supports a major fundraising effort via an annual fireworks booth.
The school is currently undergoing a large rennovation effort. In order to support the transition from grades 7-8 to 6-8, the school is undergoing a multi-million dollar upgrade and rennovation to it’s factilities. Check our the flythrough video of the modernization effort.
